Our verdict

LeoVegas is one of the most recognisable names in the UK online casino market, built around a mobile-first reputation and now backed by one of the largest operators in global gaming. Run by LeoVegas Gaming plc and owned by MGM Resorts International, the brand pairs a slick app experience with a broad games library and quick e-wallet withdrawals. Our review awards it an overall ChipChecked score of 8.2 out of 10. Below we break down the licence, games, banking, support and safety picture to help you decide whether it suits how you play.

Licence & Operator

LeoVegas is operated by LeoVegas Gaming plc, a Public Limited Company registered at Level 7, The Plaza Business Centre, Bisazza Street, Sliema SLM 1640, Malta (company number C-59314, Malta). It is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) under account number 39074, with the remote casino licence active since 9 December 2014.

The brand's parent company is MGM Resorts International, following its 2022 acquisition, which places LeoVegas within a large, well-capitalised group rather than under an anonymous offshore owner. The operator runs three sibling brands alongside it. As a UKGC licensee, LeoVegas must run identity verification and affordability and source-of-funds checks, and it operates strictly to an 18+ requirement.

Games & Software

The library spans 1,500 games in total, including roughly 1,200 slots, 80 table games and 25 video poker titles, alongside an extensive live-dealer offering of around 300 tables. Around 35 new games are added each month, so the catalogue stays fresh. Free-play demo mode is available, letting you trial slots before committing real money.

Software comes from a strong line-up of studios: Evolution, NetEnt, Microgaming, Pragmatic Play, Play'n GO, Red Tiger, Yggdrasil, Big Time Gaming, Quickspin and Thunderkick. The live-casino experience is Evolution-led and includes a branded LeoVegas Live Roulette table. For RTP hunters, the highest published return-to-player figure on site reaches 99.07%.

Payments & Withdrawal Speed

Supported deposit and withdrawal methods cover Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Trustly, bank transfer and Apple Pay, with accounts denominated in GBP or EUR. Cryptocurrency is not supported.

The minimum deposit is £10 and the minimum withdrawal is £20 — the latter is a little higher than several rivals. On the plus side, withdrawals are processed quickly, typically within around 24 hours, and there is no pending (reverse-withdrawal) period, so once a cashout is approved it is on its way rather than sitting reversible in your account.

Support & Mobile

Customer support is available via 24/7 live chat and by email at support@leovegas.com, with email replies typically inside 24 hours. There is no telephone support, so contact is limited to chat and email. Support is offered in English, Swedish, Finnish and German, and a dedicated help centre is available on site.

Mobile is where LeoVegas has earned its reputation. The experience is fully mobile-optimised, and the dedicated apps score highly: the iOS app sits at 4.8 out of 5 and the Android app at 4.6 out of 5. If you primarily play on a phone or tablet, this is among the strongest setups in the UK top tier.

Safety & Responsible Gambling

As a UKGC-licensed operator, LeoVegas is integrated with GAMSTOP, the national self-exclusion scheme, and provides the standard suite of safer-gambling tools: deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion. It promotes safer gambling through GamCare and BeGambleAware, and the National Gambling Helpline can be reached free on 0808 8020 133.

On the compliance record, LeoVegas received a £627,000 penalty package from the UKGC on 2 May 2018 for misleading marketing — 41 advertisements were found misleading between April 2017 and January 2018 — and for failures in self-exclusion handling, where 413 previously self-excluded customers were allowed to gamble without a cooling-off period. This pre-dates the current MGM ownership, but it is on record and worth weighing. Independent assessor ThePOGG currently rates the casino as Recommended, and our review logged 84 AskGamblers complaints across the operator.

Welcome Bonus

The headline welcome offer is 50 wager-free spins on Big Bass Splash when you deposit £10. The standout feature is the zero wagering requirement: winnings from the spins are paid as cash, which is a genuinely player-friendly structure compared with many heavily wagered welcome deals.

Each spin is worth £0.10, and spins must be used within 3 days of being credited. The offer is for new UK customers only (18+). Per the full terms, you must opt in, deposit £10 or more within 7 days of registering and wager 1x on eligible casino games within 7 days to receive the spins; Skrill and Neteller deposits do not qualify, and no promo code is required. Always read the full terms before opting in.

Verdict

LeoVegas is a strong all-round choice and an obvious pick for mobile-led players, combining best-in-class apps (iOS 4.8/5, Android 4.6/5), a deep 1,500-game library with a notably large live-dealer section, and fast e-wallet withdrawals with no pending period. MGM Resorts ownership and a long-standing UKGC licence add reassurance on stability and compliance.

On balance, the user-review picture is more mixed than the brand's slick presentation suggests: its Trustpilot score is 3.8 out of 5 across roughly 9,200 reviews, which is fair-to-middling rather than outstanding, and the 2018 UKGC marketing penalty is a fair caveat. The £20 minimum withdrawal and the lack of phone support are minor downsides. The wager-free welcome spins are a real positive, even if the volume is modest. Overall it earns a solid 8.2/10 — recommended, particularly if you value mobile play, breadth of games and quick payouts.

LeoVegas FAQ

Is LeoVegas a scam?
No — LeoVegas is not a scam. It holds a licence from the UK Gambling Commission (account #39074), the UK's statutory gambling regulator, which legally requires it to keep player funds protected, verify player identity, pay out legitimate winnings and submit to audits. That doesn't make any operator flawless — slow withdrawals and strict bonus wagering are common complaints right across the UK industry — but a UKGC licence is the baseline that separates a regulated casino from an actual scam. See the Trust & Safety tab for LeoVegas's full compliance record.
Is LeoVegas safe to play at?
LeoVegas is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission (account #39074), which is the UK's statutory regulator for online gambling. UKGC licensing requires segregated player funds, mandatory identity verification, responsible-gambling tools and adherence to the LCCP. Our editorial score for LeoVegas is 8.2/10, derived from the same formula we apply to every operator.
When was LeoVegas launched?
LeoVegas has been operating since 2012 — that's 14 years in the UK market. The operator is part of MGM Resorts International, which also runs 3 sister brands. Operator longevity is one of the trust signals our editorial team factors in.
Has LeoVegas ever been fined?
Yes — LeoVegas's operating entity has been subject to 1 UKGC regulatory action on our record (2018), totalling £0.63m in published fines. Full details, dates and source links are in the Trust & Safety tab. Note that regulator action against an operator's licensee can apply across multiple brands run on the same licence.
Who is LeoVegas best suited to?
Our editorial team tags LeoVegas as best for mobile based on the strengths in their game library, payment methods and bonus structure. That doesn't mean it's the right pick for everyone — try our AI Advisor with your specific priorities (deposit size, preferred games, payment method) for a tailored recommendation.
How many games does LeoVegas have?
LeoVegas's library has approximately 1,500 games, including around 1,200 slots and 300 live dealer tables. Game counts are approximate — operators don't publish authoritative totals, so we round to a conservative floor sourced from multiple UK comparison sites.

Great selection of games and quick payouts

I’ve been using LeoVegas for a few weeks and overall the experience has been really smooth. The site is easy to navigate, the game selection is huge, and I especially liked the live casino section. Deposits were instant and my withdrawal arrived faster than expected. Customer support was also helpful when I had a verification question. Bonuses were decent, although the wagering requirements could be a bit clearer.
